Sanitation Supervisor – Food Manufacturing
Shift: Monday – Friday, 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM
Pay Range: $80,000 – $95,000 annually

Training Requirement & Site Assignment:
This position requires 90+ days of on-site training at our Detroit location. Ongoing work assignments may be scheduled at the Detroit or St. Clair Shores location as operational needs require.

We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to lead our 3rd-shift team of Equipment Sanitation Specialists in our meat processing facility.

As an SQF-certified facility with the highest rating, food safety and cleanliness are paramount. This hands-on supervisor role involves direct oversight of our sanitation team (not contract staff) to ensure our equipment and environment meet stringent food safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise, train, and support the sanitation team on cleaning protocols and safety standards

  • Perform hands-on equipment disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly as needed

  • Conduct post-clean inspections to verify sanitation effectiveness and adherence to SSOPs

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to drive continuous improvement in sanitation practices

  • Conduct regular team meetings, providing a space for open communication and feedback

  • Ensure compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and other safety procedures

  • Maintain accurate records, complete timely employee evaluations, and ensure all PPE and safety protocols are followed

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years of sanitation experience in food processing, ideally with meat products

  • Familiarity with HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, and experience with USDA standards (preferred)

  • Chemical safety knowledge, including SDS training

  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work 3rd shift and weekends, from 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM, Sunday through Friday

  • Capable of standing on the plant floor 95% of the shift

  • Must be comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions

  • Able to climb stairs multiple times daily, conduct detailed equipment inspections, and lift up to 50 pounds
